Still time for Springfield-area students to reserve prom necessities







Did you remember to order flowers and make dinner reservations? If not, have no fear. If you act quickly, you can still take care of many aspects of prom planning.



Tuxedo



Guys, go ahead and let out a sigh of relief. You still have time to rent your tuxedo in the right size with the right color accessories.



Three to four weeks before your prom is plenty of time to place your order, said Jamie Patarozzi at Men’s Wearhouse.



“The sooner the better, really. Before you go in, make sure you know what you want as far as styles, accessories, etc. Definitely know what colors you need to match with your date,” Patarozzi said.



Technically speaking, you can rent a tux up to the day before prom. But if you wait that long, the store may not have your size.



Dress



Girls, you aren’t quite as lucky when it comes to attire. “As we move past February, the selection of dresses decreases,” Pasley said.



If you haven’t ordered a dress yet, you can still go to prom. Also, explore options such as borrowing a friend’s dress from last year or buying a gown from a second-hand shop.



Flowers



Flowers are a staple of prom attire, though you know they’ll fall off 20 minutes into the dance. For the sake of pictures, most people still buy them.



If you haven’t ordered yours yet, you’re in the clear, said Michelle O’Neal-Babicky, owner of Petals & Co. in Rochester.



“Two weeks out from prom is the ideal time to order your flowers,” she said.



While flowers can be ordered up to the day of prom, again, you won’t have as many options.Wanna to buy the new bicyclesaddles0 now?



“If you wait too long, the color or flower you want may not be available,” O’Neal-Babicky said.



Limousine



If you really want to make an entrance at prom, pull up in a limousine. Heather Stone at Harmony Limousine said spring is a busy time, so students wanting a limo should act fast.



“Wedding season starts this time of year, so you’re competing with that for rentals. Also, we see a rise in rentals for transportation to concert and sporting events around now as well,” she said.

Though Stone said it’s best to book a limo in February or March, she encouraged students to still call and check availability.



“Depending on what time you want to have it, before prom for pictures and dinner or after prom for transportation to your school’s after-prom (event), there may be something available for you,” she said.



Dinner reservations



For dinner reservations, the size of your group matters most.



Groups of eight to 10 should call two weeks before the event, said Michael Coffey from Saputo’s Italian Restaurant.



“We can accommodate roughly seven to eight large groups on one night. If we know that there is a prom or other event on a certain night,Motel Deborah Long Sleeve saxobankcycling in Black. we will open our banquet room and use the big tables to seat large groups,” he said.



Smaller groups should be able to call several days before an event and secure reservations, Coffey said.
