Reimagining Classical Portraits With Christian Louboutin Footwear [christian louboutin pump]

Photographer Peter Lippmann has been working with Christian Louboutin for several seasons. To highlight the fall-winter collection, Louboutin commissioned a series of portraits that references classic works of art—i.e. here are some Louboutin shoes and handbags super-imposed on iconic paintings. Like this Francois Clouet portrait of Madame au Pigalilli et Catalina, which was painted in the 16th-century, which gets the Louboutin spiked-platform pump treatment.

"The stand out glamour of the golden spiked platform court, encrusted with ruby strass crystals and the intense metallic palette of the sequinned clutch ensure they remain the focus of the image despite the majestic subject," says the press release. Hm. Okay.

"The Tootsie is held aloft by Impressionist artist James McNeil Whistlers’ mother in an allegory of his most famous painting of the samename. The elegant curve of the boot echoes the curve of her austere pose incontrast to the angular lines in the composition. The Tootsie’s combination of exotic roccia leathers, laser etched pony panelling and geometric studded piping is balanced by a constrained monochrome palette, creating a piece worthy of the founder of the tonalism movement appreciation."
